Aastra makes a remarkable line of phones specifically designed to integrate with software-based telecom providers like Red Road Telecom. The 57i CT pictured below comes with a cordless phone integrated with the desk phone. You can press the "Intercom" key on either phone and communicate between them without using any phone connection. Unlike standard cordless phones with base units, these two phones operate independently - calls can be placed or received on both at the same time without interfering with each other.

The Aastra phones can take up to 3 expansion modules, each with 60 lighted keys and programmable display.

With 12 programmable keys, the 57i can place all your top-priority contacts or most-used functions right at your fingertips. Lighted buttons provide one-touch dialing or feature setting, and indicate status such as message waiting, phone busy or in use, new email arrived, or system day-night-break mode.

The phone stores the name and number of up to 9 callers on hold, making it a self-contained attendant console or busy executive / agent desk set.

The 57i has excellent voice quality and a built-in speakerphone, bright backlit display, and "smart" feature keys that change to reflect your options depending on what's going on.
