June 2009 - Happy New Year!
The Sun Dance (the spiritual ceremony, not the movie festival) is really how I count my years - and as I'm preparing to leave for this year's dance I'm so pleased to be able to go, knowing that our systems are stable and that our tech support is being handled by two really outstanding technicians, Ron Borden and Bob Holmes. Red Road Telecom is truly blessed to have these two guys available.
Having the technical side running smoothly is giving me more time to work on service improvements and new offerings.
For example - the Faxology service is now much easier to use and more error-tolerant than its original version. You can now send faxes from your registered email address using any email system - even webmail - without having to set up a special account. Inter-island and on-island calls are handled more intelligently, so that if you forget to put in '1808' or put it in where it doesn't belong, in most cases your fax will still be delivered. You can now opt to receive success notifications as well as failure notifications so you have a positive record of all transmitted faxes.
We can now provide you with a Fax Adapter that connects a standard fax machine into our service. This means you no longer need a copper phone line with dial tone to send and receive faxes, and also that you can have multiple fax machines connected through our service.
